It’s your perfume; and your label.


Not only to give a positive impression on the people around us but also to make ourselves confident, we use perfumes with various scents in our daily lives. So it’s crucial to know perfume etiquette, which talks about how to store, apply, and choose the best fit for you and why to keep your scent a secret.
As I see, someone’s perfume or the fragrance; that he loves to apply is personal to him. Therefore if someone is not open to talking about those things, then do not try to ask. Especially for women, it is private; and they prefer to keep it a secret. I don’t know how it happens for men, but it is fair to keep it a secret.
The way how storing the bottle of perfume; matters to its quality and durability of it. The correct method to keep them is; putting them in a cool, dry, and dark place such that heat or sunlight can’t do any reactions. Unless you are using it, it is better to keep the bottles closed. If the color has changed to brown or yellow and the scent is different, then do not use the product anymore because it can be causes allergies.
Applying perfume is an art that; depends on the time, the occasion, and the people around you. The lighter fragrances are the best ones for the time before the sun goes down, while the heavier ones are best for the time after the sun sets. Eau de Toilettes have fragrances lighter than perfumes accordingly; they can use during the daytime and perfumes: in the evening. In other countries, people can change their scent according to the season; the heavier ones are for the winter, and the lighter ones are for the spring or summer. But in Sri Lanka, it is not practical. For interviews or formal gatherings, the best fit is pale fragrances, whereas the heavier ones suits for the occasions like social gatherings. If it is a fragrance-free area, we cannot apply anything. Television advertisements show that spraying perfume into the air and then; walking into the air; is wasteful. The correct method applies them to the pose points in the body: behind ears, neck, shoulders, wrist, the back-side of elbows, behind knees, and ankles. It is better to keep the bottle away from the body by 12 cm and pump it 2-3 times to the pose point. If you want a very light fragrance, one can spread to other pose points with the previous that applies by gentle touch but does not rub.
It is much critical to find the best fit for someone. It’s not your friend’s preference. You can try different products on your skin or apply them on paper and keep it with you. After 3-4 days, if you still like that fragrance, it is yours. Keep in mind that your perfume represents who you are. Just use one fragrant all the time, whether it is a perfume or Eau de Toilette. Then it can make you unique, and it’s your label.
